Employee Giving

Physicians & staff of the Northern Lights Health Region showed their support.

The Northern Lights Health Foundation launched it's first six week internal campaign in January 2011; "YOU Make Our Mission Possible!". The campaign was kicked off in the hospital cafeteria with the campaign mascot, Chicken Possible, and it included a free give-away of an iPad which was won by Danielle Breen in Medical Records. The goal was to increase involvement of individuals working in the facility and to raise funds to enhance health care in our community. At the end of the campaign over $15,000 was raised.

The Northern Lights Health Foundation would like to thank all those who joined the mission by pledging, volunteering and supporting our cause. Your efforts are truly appreciated!

Congratulations to all the winners of the 50/50 draws and to Debbie Wanner who turned the Lucky Key and won a $500.00 VISA Gift Card as a result of her commitment of a year long pledge to the Foundation.

Origins of Chicken Possible

Born in July 2007 as Rubber Chicken; he was welcomed into the Foundation as part of a gag. The Foundation staff had attended training in Madison, Wisconsin and learned a fun idea; purchase a rubber chicken and when something good happens in your office ‘honk’ the chicken to alert the staff that something exciting has occurred. So, the Foundation staff of 2007 purchased a rubber chicken but for years he remained in the filing cabinet and never was able to showcase his full potential.

In 2010, with new (and wackier) Foundation staff in the office, Rubber Chicken was plucked from the filing cabinet and had found a place next to the office printer; finally he was out! He was so happy to be ‘honked’ on occasion and to be part of the celebration of a great year at the Foundation. BUT! He did not know what was to come.

In late 2010 Chicken Possible was born! Fitted with a custom super hero suit he started a mission to help the Foundation help YOU make our hospital a place that not only has great patient care but also has a great workplace atmosphere.
